Important Notes
Aristois was created and is designed for the Official launcher only.
As an exception, our Installer supports the third-party launcher MultiMC, which still requires an official minecraft account.
We have never — and will never — support unofficial or cracked launchers, because we do not support people pirating the game.
Just because it 'worked in the past' does NOT mean that it will work now, and we will not provide help for those on these launchers.
When installing for a specific version, you must run the vanilla profile of that version first. (If you want version 1.14.1 you must run vanilla 1.14.1 at least one time)
While not required, a third-party file extractor, such as winRAR, is useful during the installation process.
Please try to consult this guide before asking for help. If you encounter any issues please join our discord where we will be able to reply faster.

For installation with the .jar/.exe Installer
Downloading Aristois
Before installation, Aristois must be downloaded by one of two ways:
Method One: .zip File
The .zip file is the current install method that is on our download page.It is a .zip file that contains a folder with a .json file in it. There is not supposed to be a .jar file in this .zip.
Step 1: Visit the download page.
Step 2: Click the 'Free Download' button. (unless you're a donor)
Step 3: Wait 5 seconds and press 'Skip Ad'
Step 4: Choose the Minecraft version you want to download the client for
After choosing a version the .zip file should automatically start downloading.

Method Two: .jar/.exe Installer
This method is used for installation with 1.12.2, forge, fabric, rift and MultiMC.It can also be used if the .zip method does not work.
Step 1: Visit the GitLab page for the Installer(Free Version)(Donor Version)
Step 2: Download either the .exe (For Windows) or the .jar file (All supported OS)
Please note that you do not need both files. You only need one of the two options.

This installation process should be used by people who want to install Aristois without any additional modloaders. (forge, rift, etc)
Method One: .zip File
After you have downloaded the .zip file from the previous step, you will want to place the it into your minecraft versions folder.
(Windows:
Then, extract the .zip file directly into the versions folder. If you extract the .zip to a new folder it will not work.
This should be the directory to the json file inside the folder:
If you see an extra folder inside of the x.xx.x-Aristois folder, or if your folder is named x.xx.x-Aristois-Latest, drag the inside folder into /versions.
After this, you are ready to play Aristois. Open the launcher and then go to the 'Installations' tab.
Create a new installation and select the release x.xx.x-Aristois. Then press 'create' and run your profile.
(Windows:
%appdata%.minecraftversions

Create a new installation and select the release x.xx.x-Aristois. Then press 'create' and run your profile.
Method Two: .jar/.exe Installer
What you do after you have downloaded the Installer from the previous step depends on which file you downloaded.
If you downloaded the .exe:
Double-click the file and it will run. You will come across a warning message.
This is simply because the .exe file does not have a certificate. We guarantee that it is safe, and you are free to check yourself.
Press 'More Information' and you can choose 'Run Anyways'. After this, the installer will open
If you downloaded the .jar file:
First, you need to make sure that you have installed Javaonto your PC. If you haven't, you won't be able to run the installer.
Then, if the .jar file has the Java logo on it, double-click it. Otherwise, right-click the file, and go to 'Open with' > 'Java'.
Now that the installer is open, we can choose our Minecraft version to install to and any additional mods we may want to add.
Aristois is required as an addon, or else the client will not load. I suggest leaving the marketplace installed, that way you can add more later if you aren't sure about them now.
For vanilla Minecraft, leave the Launcher as Vanilla and the Modloader as None. Then, press 'Install'.
Now that Aristois is installed, we can open the Minecraft launcher, and select the x.xx.x-Aristois profile that was automatically created.
